The Cliff
We were young.
We loved each other.
If I had asked her to jump with me of the cliff, she would have said yes to me.
We had no real perception to have a body or the sensation of fear
or even an idea with an ulterior motive.
The grain of sand which was lacking did not stop us from sleeping on the beach.
And the one who had taken it will be well obliged to put it back one day or ...another.
Even if sometimes we have suffer from, the idea of calculation did not cross our mind.
And then after all, I never shall have asked her really.
' Slowhand ' was then a component of the musical framework.
The idea of a dive in an atmosphere with a degree of kindness and purity.
What Eric Clapton and the album did the best.
In line with the cool musical notes that escape on ' Give Me Strength ' or ' Please Be With Me '
on the precede album ' 461 Ocean Boulevard '.
Playing ' Cool ' is in no case a betrayal of the Rock music.
( Which would rather be to get lost in the acceleration of the tempo and to forget the heart ).
By now, the spirit of the " Crossroads Guitar Festival " carry on
this universe of gathering and generosity as well as the flame of a musical style.
The first edition was in 2004 and its objective is to allocate the profits as a source of funding
for the Crossroads drug dependencies Center located on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean.
For my Play list I made a selection in the live recordings like in the editions of the Crossroads Festival
and in the studio albums of all the periods, from the beginning to now.
And the whole titles of ' Slowhand ' joins it in a natural way.

The Speed Of Light
It looks like a racing car the speed of which would have exceeded the limit restrained by the builder.
It slips in all the bends and jumps all the obstacles.
It is not the car which is going to run off the scenery but the scenery which is going
to run off the road , be completely transformed and finally find itself in suspension…
It is a big, a huge solo. A huge solo of Jimi.
One of those etched in the history of Rock music.

There is, whatever we can hear or think, real talents in the current music creation.
And John Mayer is a figurehead.
His real virtuosity and sensitive playing feel comfortable in the change of bands,
music styles and with the covers all along the show.
I do not believe he is the kind of artist fully recognize at his true value.
I like all the songs of the concert and they are all in my Play list.

The Sugar Wave
One day I heard somebody say : " When you write a song you have to put some sugar inside ".
Well... This album overflows with sugar.
I should like to say one word about the period of release of the album.
The way begins in 1962-63 with the rise of the ‘ Big Rock bands ‘.

The way begins in 1962-63 with the rise of the ‘ Big Rock bands ‘.
It climbs to a major period at the end of the sixties, a time of intense creation and protest.
( In a collective sense this two elements are going hand in hand ).
It leads then to the date of the album, a high turning point around 1976.
So, the shape that is emerging is a two peaks mountain.
An ascending slope goes to the first peak ( 1966-69 ),
from there, a high path goes to the second peak ( 1976-77 )
and a decline with a steeper slope ends the drawing of the form.
The immediate movements which followed were only kicking the sand castle
which the child had built on the beach.
And then, the wave retreated…
Songs In The Key of Live is full of love with a sophisticated musical composition line.
It is not one of the best albums of the seventies.
What would have been, in itself, extraordinary.
Songs In the Key Of Live is one of the best albums of the twentieth century.
